Disaster Risk Reduction and Emergency Response for persons with disabilities

Amidst the Covid-19 pandemic Nepal was hit by devastating floods and landslides in June 2021 causing significant destruction of property and loss of lives. Each year many people lose their lives during the monsoon season and several thousands are displaced temporarily or permanently. The hilly areas are prone to frequent landslides and the low land is at a huge risk of flooding. This year has witnessed continued incessant rain bringing devastating floods in many parts of the country. Agricultural fields, where people were ready to harvest were destroyed causing serious food shortages in the autumn & winter seasons. It has been quite some time since the flood and landslide took place but people who are affected/displaced are still in need of support. They are particularly in need of food items, warm clothes, and means of livelihood.
